INNER PEACE COUNSELING

Forget-me-not flowers.

Peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

For more than twenty-five years, my work as a psychotherapist has been sacred work. Every time another soul invites me to be a guiding companion on the healing journey, I feel blessed. It is an honor to be entrusted with such care and to participate in a wonderous process that can transform pain into peace.

As the quote above suggests, I help clients connect with the part of themselves that remains untouched and unharmed by external life dramas. Whether we call this inner self the True Self, Higher Self, Buddha Nature, Christ Consciousness, Light, Love or anything else, IT is the source of peace in our lives. Yet we are conditioned to look for relief outside of ourselves. When we find it, it doesn't last and we sink more deeply into old, dysfunctional patterns of coping. But our distress can also motivate us to declare:  "There's got to be a better way!" And indeed there is.

Connecting with the part of us that is capable of sustaining a calm heart in the midst of turmoil is an exciting and transformative step on our journey. If you are feeling at odds with your life, struggling with low self-esteem, conflicted relationships or a challenging past; if you are seeking peace and purpose, then I invite you to call me and schedule an introductory visit, at no charge, to see if this approach is a fit for you.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for taking these moments to share, in this small way, work that is so inspiring,

Cathy
